This
specially formulated synthetic cordage is designed to be especially
resistant to abrasion, UV degradation, rot, and mildew. Central
tube suspension featuring smoothly polished tube ends prevent cord
abrasion typical of other, less labor-intensive suspension
techniques.
The
ring is fabricated using heavy gauge stainless steel that provides
sturdy support and has been polished to enhance the visual appeal of
the wind chime.
Music
of the Spheres wind chimes feature custom made tempered aluminum
alloy tubing that provides superior sound quality and will never
rust.
Our
corrosion-protective finish preserves chime's appearance and
increases durability in hostile environments (acid rain, salt air).
Each
tube has been cut and tuned by hand using just intonation with the
exception of the whole tone scale which uses equal temperament.
Tubes
are tuned to A440, standard orchestral pitch, using the latest in
technology.
Clappers
are made using solid polyethylene for both superior tonal quality
and enhanced durability.
The
wind catcher is made from the same material as the tubes and also
features the corrosion-protective finish for superior durability in
all kinds of environments including acid rain and salt air. The
size, weight, and shape of the wind catcher has been designed for
optimal chime performance in 8-10 mph wind velocity. , of the same
finish and material as the tubes, is the ideal size, weight, and
shape for optimal chime performance in 8 - 10 mph wind velocity.
Wind
chime activity level can be easily modified using the wind catcher
hook assembly.
The
clapper slides on the central cord up into the ring creating a
convenient "off/on" feature.
In
bad weather and particularly high wind conditions, the wind catcher
can be easily removed to subdue chime activity.
All
Music of the Spheres wind chimes undergo a detailed final inspection
to ensure they meet or exceed company standards for acoustic and
visual quality.
