Our eco-friendly slate wind chimes are unique in that many of the parts are composed of slate, including the top hanger, striker and the circular windplate. The tubes are composed of aluminum, as are all of the windchimes we carry. While slate is not as forgiving of a material, the light tinkling from one of our hand-tuned slate windchimes is an uplifting experience. The slate chimes are the smallest windchimes we carry, although they are a bit heavier than the Little GraceNotes and Small Chimes. We carry slate wind chimes in their natural color and in anodized black. We are not able to offer engravings on our slate windchimes.

 

Care of Slate Wind Chimes

Though ther slate is sealed before the manufacture, the slate windchimes require a little more care than the other wind-instruments we offer at EcoWindchimes.com. They must be protected from freezing temperatures, and we recommend bringing your slate chime indoors before a freeze or other severe weather, such as storms with high winds. Due to the special care requirements of slate, Our slate wind chimes come with a one-year warrantee, while all other GraceNote windchimes carry a ten-year warrantee against breakage. With proper care against the elements these slate chimes will provide years of enjoyment and a style that will fit any porch.
