Rising Aluminum Costs Lead to Increased Retail Prices in American Made Wind Chimes
Made in the U.S.A. Eco-Friendly Wind Chime Distributor Continues to See Interest in Domestic Products Despite Cost Increase
(Dallas, TX, June 20, 2012): Eco Wind Chimes, a subsidiary of Just One Moon, the leading provider of fair-trade and environmentally responsible international products, has announced their tuned wind chime collection will undergo a marginal price increase on Friday, June 22, 2012, due to growing material costs sourced from the aluminum industry.
Five year market index reports indicate U.S. dollars per metric ton reached a low in February 2009, at $1.27K with May 2012, prices reaching $2.05K per metric ton. "American made products are feeling the effects of price fluctuations in the metals industry," said Stephen Betzen, owner of Just One Moon and Eco Wind Chimes. "Economic influences such as higher fuel costs trickle down affecting materials, parts, transportation, and labor so even the suppliers begin to feel the burden. As a result, retail prices must also account for these influences."
Eco Wind chimes continues to offer a diverse selection of domestic instruments sourced from sustainable materials. Consumers can choose from products by Grace Notes, and Music of the Sphere up to 84 inches tall. In an effort to buffer the increased prices while continuing to offer US made products owner Betzen is extending a 15 percent discount on total purchased price valid through Friday, August 31, 2012. The discount code can be applied to purchases at time of check-out via the Eco Wind Chime e-commerce storefront.
In business since 2006, Betzen said, "Sustainable products, fair trade methods, and keeping jobs from transitioning oversees is at the core of the Just One Moon philosophy."
ABOUT ECO-WIND CHIMES:
In January of 2005, the parent company of Eco Wind Chimes, Just One Moon, was founded on the belief that any company has a responsibility to the community they live in. It must care for the community's people, the environment and the company's customers. The two pillars of our foundation, ethics and sustainability, arise from this belief in our responsibility. Along with Fair Coffee (FairCoffee.com), Just One Moon's other daughter company, we represent two approaches to fair business: one which recognizes the importance of sustainable international trade, and another which recognizes the value of fair-paying jobs at home, jobs that build our local economies. Both show the quality products that result from fairness.
